Course description

Owing to the importance of SROP to council business the ministry will be conducting a special training on SROP after the induction to enable the councils to conduct their business in a regulated manner. Therefore, this course is designed to equip the MDF with the knowledge on the features of local council meetings, the rules, orders of debate in council and the structure of the rules of procedure among others.

The purpose of the Standard Rules of Procedure (SROP) for Local Government Councils is to ensure orderly, effective and efficient Local Government council meetings. It is anticipated that successful completion of this course will able participants to appreciate the importance of the Rules of Procedure in achieving successful Local Council meetings.
